The Mansion House
This Grade II listed, Italianate-style property is St Helen’s best-kept secret. Tucked away in Victoria Park it sits within its own formal walled garden comprising of manicured lawns and attractive flowerbeds. There’s a central courtyard and Heritage Lottery-funded orangery with a function hall and café set within a converted barn to the rear. Inside, the house is full of historic charm; the main rooms are accessed via a striking internal atrium and the period décor continues in to large, airy reception rooms.
For ceremonies, the Orangery holds up to 160 of the couple’s nearest and dearest within its original 1850s glasshouse design. The Diamond Suite is a fully refurbished function hall for 160 loved ones with a large dancefloor and bar for evening parties.
Couples can also opt to say their vows within the house. The Reading Room boasts high ceilings, intricate Victorian coving and a marble fireplace while tall windows and French doors provide excellent views across the grounds and parkland beyond. For more intimate gatherings, the all-important ‘I dos’ can take place in the Lounge for 40 guests or the Atrium for 50 loved ones.
Receptions for up to 160 partygoers can be held in the Orangery, Diamond Suite, Reading Room and Lounge. All brides and grooms will get a personal event organiser to assist them with all elements of the wedding, from initial enquiry through to the big day.
