Abbie and Alexander's big day had the perfect fairytale backdrop of Leasowe Castle

The Mansion House
The Mansion House, a stately white Italianate-style Grade II listed Victorian house lies within its own grounds, almost hidden within Victoria Park. There’s a central courtyard and a new state-of-the art orangery in keeping with the period and set off a courtyard behind these two buildings is a function hall and a café set within a converted barn.
Within the house there’s a distinctly period feel. Main rooms are accessed via the striking internal atrium – lit up from the skylight. The Victorian-style décor continues into large airy reception rooms. For ceremonies, the Orangery for up to 160 guests, is a beautiful choice for couples and is in keeping with the original 1850s glass house design. There are lower level wings to each side meaning it can be divided into three separate areas. Alternatively, you can opt for the Diamond Suite: this fully refurbished function hall offers an ideal location for the larger ceremonies for up to 160 guests. There’s also a large dancefloor and bar facilities for evening functions. The Reading Room, located within the Grade II listed house, offers a high ceiling, original intricate Victorian coving and Victorian marble fireplace. There are tall windows and French doors providing excellent views over the formal walled garden, side garden area and parkland beyond. The Reading Room is perfect for intimate gathering of 60 friends and family.
Finally, couples also have the choice of the Lounge, for 40 guests and the Atrium for 50 loved ones. After the all-important ‘I dos’ receptions can be held in the Orangery, Diamond Suite, Reading Room and Lounge which can hold 160, 55 and 40 guests respectively. The rooms all have tall windows, glass French doors and original features. The Atrium also stands out with the tiled Italianate mosaic flooring and wide winding staircase.
