I wore a Justin Alexander fitted chantilly lace dress with pearl beading and leaf appliqué detail. It was just perfect from the moment I tried it on. I finished my look with a single-tier floor-length veil and a pearl headpiece to set off my hair. My husband has a laid-back style and wanted to feel himself on the day, so he wore a lightweight wool suit in navy accessorised with a blue floral tie and pocket square. The groomsmen on the other hand had pink linen ties and pocket squares to complement the bridesmaids’ dresses. A local string quartet played as I walked down the aisle and again at the drinks reception. They were amazing and set a wonderful relaxed feel for the day. Our flowers were all silk and I wanted dusky pink and cream complemented with lots of green foliage. The stems were hydrangeas, peonies and roses – all of my favourites. One of the day’s highlights for me was seeing the look of my daughter’s and bridesmaids’ faces when they saw me in my dress for the first time. Then when my dad came into the room the pure emotion on his face too was just lovely. 30
