May/June 2021

I’m going to be a bridesmaid! As you’ll have gathered, I’m giddy with excitement and couldn’t wait to share my news with you. Our dear Melissa Barker, fellow editor here at CWM, popped to the question last month asking me if I’d accept this huge honour. I’m thrilled to be taking this journey with such a dear friend and we’ll be sharing our learnings every step of the way, so don’t miss Melissa’s bridal diary and moodboard over on page 80.

Even bigger news of course is something that affects us all: Boris’ roadmap out of this mess. Here at CWM HQ we were thrilled to see a plan back to wedding normality. It’ll be a slow process, but with everyone pulling together and staying safe it should mean we see our beloved weddings and wedding industry back in full force by the end of June. That in itself is cause for celebration.

On that note, let’s take a look at what we’ve got for you this issue as I round up my highlights across these two pages.

Enjoy and keeeep planning!

Delamere Manor

Through wrought-iron gates, along a driveway fl anked by lime trees sits award-winning wedding venue Delamere Manor. Set in more than 100 acres of rolling Cheshire countryside, it overlooks a six-acre lake and was once the former residence of the powerful Wilbraham family, and more recently Gary Barlow. This country house is now privately owned and has undergone a dramatic transformation over recent years to provide a classic yet contemporary backdrop for your big day.

You can choose between no less than fi ve outdoor licensed spaces for your vows, accommodating 140 of your nearest and dearest: The Terrace, The Jetty, The Folly, The Pergola and The Summer House. Moving into the afternoon and evening, celebrations can be held in the beautiful glass-fronted Courtyard, with retractable roof, while The Terrace, Folly and Jetty are also available for you to utilise with capacity for 140 during the day and 180 in the evening. Finally, the pièce de resistance: Delamere Manor has its own private night club, an uber-cool monochrome space where you can dance the night away.

The venue offers a complimentary food and wine tasting, and accommodation is also available.

Retreat to the city at The Marylebone, London

As the country prepared for Lockdown Part II, my husband and I managed to sneak in a last-minute escape to the city to enjoy a much-needed retreat at The Marylebone. Nestled in the hotel's super-trendy namesake neighbourhood, between the Georgian Welbeck Street and the part-pedestrianised Marylebone Lane, you're just a short walk from London's most famous Monopoly locations, from Bond Street to Mayfair.
