Dressed in white

Kirsty and Adam's day was styled in white with a hint of pink for a timeless feel.

Kirsty and Adam were just 17 and 19 in December 2009 when they met. Mutual friends of theirs had arranged to meet up and it so happened that they were both going along. Kirsty says, “It was an instant attraction for us both and our friends had put in a few good words!”

Six years later Adam proposed at the top of Bosley Cloud, a popular Cheshire viewing point. The bride recalls, “We used to walk up there almost every weekend. It's our favourite spot. While we walked we'd talk about what the future would hold after Adam left the military, having joined two years after we got together. He was due to finish his service that September.” However, more change was on the horizon as just days before the engagement, Kirsty had accepted a job in Dubai!

Here the bride shares her memories of their gorgeous wedding day on 2nd August 2018…

Dressed in white: Image 1 We chose Colshaw Hall as it had plenty of space for lots of guests and it had the wow factor. We instantly fell in love with it it was bright, modern and just about everything we'd been looking for.

I wore a princess-style Pronovias gown. I loved the back, which was cut into alow v-shape. I felt the look was classic, yet young. I accessorised with a long two-tier veil and Jimmy Choo heels.

I only went shopping for my dress with the mums as I felt too many people could change my mind. It really helped as I was confident I'd chosen the one I felt best in.

Dressed in white: Image 3 Adam paired his modern-style navy suit and matching tie with a grey chequered waistcoat. As a wedding gift I bought him a pocket watch personalised with his initials and the date of our wedding, which helped him stand out in the photographs.

Dressed in white: Image 4 The bridesmaids' dresses were a difficult choice. The girls all like different styles and have varied body shapes. In the end we found some long rose pink gowns that looked lovely on all of them.

Our centerpieces were large vases, filled with cellophane and placed on mirrors this created an icy effect. They were topped with an array of beautiful large blooms.

Our floral arrangements were made up of hydrangea, polar star roses, lisianthus, soft ruscus, gypsophila, carnations and spray carnations. We made a scrapbook of flowers that we liked from Pinterest. We'd thought about how they would lookin our venue and it really helped make it our own.

Dressed in white: Image 6 Despite saying we'd be fine about the wedding with no nerves, we both felt quite the opposite on the morning of our nuptials! I couldn't keep still! We'd been waiting so long for the day to come around and finally it was here.

The table plan had a picture of our stunning venue at its centre surrounded by the table names. The ten tables were named after each year we'd been together.

As a guestbook we had a large hand-painted canvas of our venue that guests signed around the outside. We also hired a flower wall for fabulous guest photos, MR & MRS light-up letters, and vintage bicycle with a cart attached, which we filled with flowers and used as a sweetie cart.

Dressed in white: Image 8 Our DJ, Andy Murphy, has been voted best wedding DJ in the UK! We also had a saxophone player Sophie Sax who everyone loved.

Our three-tier cake was decorated with pink roses cascading down one side in a hue matching the bridesmaids' dresses.

We had a pianist, Guy Porteous, to entertain guests during the ceremony and drinks reception. He was fantastic and played hits by artists from Ed Sheeran to Christina Perri as well as some of his own compositions.

Dressed in white: Image 10 We went to the Maldives for a week and it was just what we thought paradise would look like. We swam with turtles, manta rays and sharks daily, which was unbelievable. We'd never seen such clear blue waters and not wearing shoes for an entire week was great!
