Boutique hotel The Townhouse, Chester, has announced the appointment of Louis McDermott, new head chef at the on-site restaurant, 1699 Bar and Brasserie. Having worked under one of Heston Blumenthal and Dominic Champman’s influential sous chefs at the two-rosette and Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant, The White Oak in Berkshire, Louis brings a huge wealth of experience. He brings a flare to affordable dining at The Townhouse and hopes to push the venue into the culinary limelight of the Chester and Merseyside area.
The boutique hotel is a hidden gem, located within the bounds of Chester’s historic Roman walls. It’s also launched a new menu, and recently completed a major refurbishment. So, if you’re looking for a new date-night spot, it’s well work checking out The Townhouse.
