Cheshire's Delamere Manor

One of Cheshire’s most exclusive wedding venues has been selected as a finalist for a national wedding industry customer service award.

Nestled in over 100 acres of idyllic Cheshire countryside, Delamere Manor will now go head to head with the elite of wedding venues across the UK in the awards, which reward businesses that deliver exceptional service and achieve outstanding customer satisfaction within the wedding industry.

Judged by a prestigious panel of industry experts, the winners of the awards will be announced at a black tie event on 9th March 2022 at Oxford Town Hall. The ceremony will also raise funds for VOW for Girls.

The former residence of the Wilbraham family and more recently the musician and songwriter Gary Barlow, Delamere Manor features a stunning manor house, a beautiful six acre lake and is even home to its very own nightclub for guests exclusive use.

Offering four licensed and flexible spaces for outdoor wedding ceremonies and a fifth option within its stunning star-lit Courtyard, which features a fully retractable roof, Delamere Manor provides a classic yet contemporary backdrop for weddings and special occasions.

Michelle Stubbs, Founder and Owner of Delamere Manor says, “We are thrilled to be a finalist. The whole team work so hard to deliver a dream wedding day for all of our couples and I’m so incredibly proud of everyone and the high level of service they continue to deliver, especially during these challenging times. They continue to exceed both mine and our couples’ expectations.”

Lots of people are ditching traditions when it comes to modern weddings and marriage - one of which quickly losing favour is the tradition of taking your partner's surname. In a recent survey carried out by Pandora UK, almost nine in ten (88%) women said they think that attitudes to married names are changing in 2026 ¹. When asked, over a quarter (26%) of unmarried women said they'd keep their last name if they got married, whilst less than half (45%) said they'd take their partner's name. This is indicative of the shift in opinion in recent years, as when married women were asked, only a sixth (17%) of women said they kept their maiden names when they got married, whilst the majority (78%) took their partner's surname, with just 4% choosing to double-barrel their last name with their significant other.
