An enchanting castle, steeped in history, Peckforton will delight you and your guests. The exclusive-use venue offers a magical backdrop for the all-important photos, combined with delicious, award-winning food and drink, ensuring your big-day is a true fairytale.

The 'I dos'
Imagine saying your vows with the sun streaming through stained-glass windows, as a string quartet plays from the Minstrel’s Gallery. The magnificent Great Hall, which can host ceremonies with 165 loved ones also offers a warmly romantic setting in the winter with a glowing fire and candlelight reflecting off the original Minton Hollins tiled floor.

The Drawing Room can also accommodate 165 and is the largest of the Castle’s function rooms. As you enter, your eye is caught by three imposing windows draped with luxurious red velvet curtains, chandeliers and tapestries.

Built in 1848 and set inside the fortified walls of the Castle, the Chapel is the perfect place for a religious blessing or renewal of vows (not available for civil ceremonies) and the local minister will be happy to officiate. There’s space here for 100 loved ones.

For more intimate “I dos,” The Hexagonal Room (80 guests), The Wine Cellar (40 guests), and The Library (30 guests) are also available.

The celebrations
For large capacities The Drawing Room (165 guests) and Great Hall (120 guests) are available once more for your reception. For smaller guest lists, The Hexagonal Room can host 80 and among its many striking features is the Tollmache family grace, engraved into the vaulted stone ceiling: “At dinner and supper, morning and night, give thanks unto God for his gifts.”

For the same numbers, The Wine Cellar allows you to absorb the Castle’s history with its one-of-a-kind experience. The captivating grey- stone walls evoke times long past, enveloping you and your loved ones in an atmosphere of wistful romance.

Finally, The Library is the most intimate of the spaces and can seat 30. The book-lined walls are a key feature adding to its authenticity and ambience.

There's more
The venue benefits from an onsite lodge, which is ideal for a night in with nearest and dearest before the big day. Also offered are menu tastings allowing you to try out some mouth-watering dishes, and all packages include use of the bridal suite for the wedding night

Married to your surname? 26% of women are planning on keeping theirs

Lots of people are ditching traditions when it comes to modern weddings and marriage - one of which quickly losing favour is the tradition of taking your partner's surname. In a recent survey carried out by Pandora UK, almost nine in ten (88%) women said they think that attitudes to married names are changing in 2026 ¹. When asked, over a quarter (26%) of unmarried women said they'd keep their last name if they got married, whilst less than half (45%) said they'd take their partner's name. This is indicative of the shift in opinion in recent years, as when married women were asked, only a sixth (17%) of women said they kept their maiden names when they got married, whilst the majority (78%) took their partner's surname, with just 4% choosing to double-barrel their last name with their significant other.
