Innovative UK cake stand brand, Prop Options has launched a new, sophisticated range of interchangeable pastel-coloured cake stands, giving couples and cake designers bountiful colourful options when it comes to displaying their wedding cakes.
Known as the Reeded Stand, these pastel-toned contemporary cake plinths have removable top plates, allowing designers and couples to mix and match colourways for a truly unique, fun, yet elegant, design.
Prop Options is bringing out six colourways in its Pastel Reeded Stand collection, namely pink, lavender, green, yellow, blue and 2024 colour of the year, Pantone Peach Fuzz. The stands are also available in white, black, and gold.
Designed to be completely lightweight, perfect for storage and transportation, the cake stands are made from Eco PLA Filament – a premium, eco-friendly material that’s built to last and what’s more, is fully recyclable when the time comes to retire it. The stands have hollow bases for cake designers to fill and weight as needed for each cake design. Prop Options recommends using ceramic baking beans for this task.
Prop Options co-founder, Emily Young, said: “We are delighted to be extending our prop family with the Reeded Cake stand! We loved creating this modern, sleek and fun pedestal and are excited to see what designs our talented cake community display on them! These stands work as well propping up a stylish tiered cake in a wedding venue as they do adorning a dining table at home, and the fact that you can interchange the tops and bases, means countless ways to feature them!”
The Reeded Stand design incorporates a statement vertical line detail throughout and comfortably supports the weight of up to three tiers. The stands are available in a standard 8” diameter, with custom sizes available to order in 10” and 12” diameters. Prop Options has also added a handy guide to the bases of each stand, with information on the maximum tier diameter that the stands will safely support.
Emily adds: “We take the safety of our customer’s cakes very seriously, especially when supporting such delicate creations. We rigorously test our cake stands to ensure that they are secure, giving our customers peace of mind that their creations are in safe hands.”
The Reeded Cake stand joins Prop Options’ range of Reeded Separators, which the brand designed for use between wedding cake tiers to add height and a sophisticated design edge without the need for extra cake. Thanks to Prop Options’ versatile offering, these Reeded Separators have proven a popular choice for cake designers worldwide and they can also be made to order in a wide range of colours, diameters and heights.
Prices for the Prop Options Pastel Reeded Cake Stands start at £68 RRP and shipping is available in the UK and worldwide. Visit www.propoptions.co.uk for more information and for the latest news and ideas, visit the Prop Options Blog.
The British Wedding Tradition Most Guests Never Question
Most wedding guests have heard the phrase "wedding breakfast", but very few stop to question it. After all, the meal is rarely served in the morning. It usually comes after the ceremony, often in the afternoon, and can involve anything from a formal three-course dinner to sharing boards, canapes, grazing tables and dessert stations. So why do we still call it a breakfast? According to Nick from Country House Weddings, the answer goes back centuries and is tied to religion, fasting and the way weddings were once celebrated in Britain. Breaking A Very Specific Fast The word "breakfast" does not originally mean a morning meal. It simply means breaking a fast.

RSVPing 'YES' to multiple weddings? Here's how to budget!
Attending weddings can be a joyous occasion, but it can also be expensive, particularly if you're invited to more than one over the course of the year. Costs such as new outfits, travel and accommodation, and gifts mean the overall expense of attending can quickly add up. Duncan Fortune, Head of Commercial at Tesco Bank, says: "Wedding season can be a significant expense for households. Planning ahead and setting a dedicated budget for celebrations can help spread the cost over several months, allowing people to make the most of the celebrations while keeping their finances on track."
