What can you expect?
Located between the River Weaver and the Trent & Mersey Canal, Cheshire’s iconic Anderton Boat Lift offers couples the chance to wed in this idyllic riverside setting. Built in 1875 and known as the Cathedral of the Canals, it’s the world’s first successful boat lift and is considered one of the foremost examples of Victorian engineering. The impressive structure and waterside location provides one-of-a-kind photo opportunities.
Time to celebrate!
The site’s Lift View Marquee hosts ceremonies and receptions for up to 100 guests and is available all year round. Bespoke boat trips are available to take friends and family on a relaxing cruise along the river and through the lift. The venue prides itself on its friendly and flexible approach; giving access to the marquee before and after the big day in order to set up and break down, taking some of the stress out of planning.
