Soughton Hall, a Downton Abbey-style historic house a stone’s throw from Chester, has scooped a prestigious award naming it as the top venue in Wales to get married at. It clinched the accolade after also winning the Best Venue in North Wales category at The Welsh National Wedding Awards following a £400,000 renovation of its interior.
 
“We were very proud to take over Soughton Hall and have been working hard to transform it into a first-class wedding and events venue,” says managing director James Ramsbottom. “It’s a special place with a rich history, and I’m thrilled it’s made such an impression on other people and earned us this fantastic honour. What’s even more gratifying is that it’s the couples who have wed here since we took over that put us forward for the award; it’s a credit to the team’s dedication and hard work.”
