Body positive campaigner Marisa Rooney has launched Liverpool's first bridal shop exclusively for women with curves.
After seeing ladies struggling in to standard sizes and feeling out of place when shopping for their big day, Marisa decided to launch a business to celebrate curvy brides. After striking a deal with a supplier, the shop will offer a rare opportunity for customisable dresses from big designer labels, so customers have the option to swap and change tops and skirts.
Caryn Franklin MBE, a British fashion commentator and Professor of Diversity in Fashion has praised the venture, and Marisa's promotion of using the term 'life size' instead of 'plus size.'
“She understands how important it is for women to feel beautiful and this is never more important than on their wedding day,” says Caryn. “She's at the forefront of a new generation of designers who put the needs of their customers at the forefront of their business.”
The shop will specialise in edgy dresses, and promote a body positive vibe. For more information, head to www.beautifulbridesliverpool.com
