Well, hello lovely brides of this fantastic region. Allow me to introduce myself, I'm Kelly, your new editor! Despite being a self-confessed winterholic, I can’t say I was sorry to see the back of the dark nights. When I think of spring, what immediately comes to mind is new life. There’s just something in the air, with trees blooming and wonderful spring flowers blossoming. So if you have a gorgeous spring wedding planned, excellent choice, I say! At the moment I'm hard at work putting the finishing touches to your May/June issue and I’m extremely excited to be bringing you the absolute best the area has to offer for your nuptials. In the meantime, let me take you through what to look out for in the current issue. If you still have a pretty substantial to-do list, then don’t worry! We’re here to guide you through the planning process, starting with our cake feature on page 55 where local experts reveal all the trends for the coming season. Our wonderful fashion editor, Claire Ridley, has a host of fun and frivolous dresses to inspire you on page 69, and if the changing of the season has got you in the mood for some sunshine, then make sure you check out our honeymoon section, starting on page 105. | |

Knowsley Hall
As soon as couples drive into this private 2,500-acre estate, which is home to the Earl & Countess of Derby, they’ll be completely captivated. The hall is steeped in history and has welcomed royalty and distinguished visitors since it opened its doors in 1495. From the grand State Dining Room with its original features and portraits of previous earls and countesses, to the romantic Stucco Ballroom with its gold-encrusted ceiling where Queen Elizabeth II once dined, all areas of this venue are mesmerising. Although grand, it has a warm and welcoming atmosphere and friendly, dedicated staff.
For couples looking to tie the knot here, the Stucco Ballroom has a capacity for 132 guests during the day and can hold 200 for the evening do, while the Walnut Drawing Room is ideal for more intimate ceremonies of up to 30 people. This space is also ideal for drinks receptions and as a relaxing area in the evening. The State Dining Room holds 132 friends and family for a spectacular reception under its antique gold chandelier.
Couples marrying here benefit from a complimentary menu tasting and bridal suite for the wedding night.
