While we still need to be careful to keep each other safe, I think there’s reason to look forward to the future. To all of you who’ve seen their wedding plans changing by the second of late, I’d like to virtually shake all of you by the hand. Don’t give in! Here at Your Cheshire & Merseyside Wedding, we don’t plan to shift in our resolutely optimistic celebration of everything wedding and we love taking you along for the ride. So, let’s support our local wedding industry, so that we can all come out the other side, happy that love won. Come on 2021, you got this!

Let’s start the year with a bang. We’ve got our usual fabulous blend of real weddings (from page 22) and stunning styled shoots (from page 41) that you absolutely won’t want to miss. If there’s one thing that never fails to cheer me up, it’s the wealth of stunning dresses that our lovely fashion editor Claire gathers together for her fashion roundups, so be sure to check out the latest from page 63. Plus, if you’re on the hunt for that dream dress, turn to page 59 for our guide to shopping for your shape.

Shrigley Hall Hotel & Spa

A classic Victorian country house, this elegant hotel is set in more than 262 acres of gorgeous grounds, including an 18-hole championship golf course. Surrounded by beautiful Cheshire countryside, it’s set high in the hills bordering the Peak District, creating a secluded and tranquil atmosphere for your big day. With 155 en-suite bedrooms and the recently refurbished BAZAAR Spa, complete with indoor pool and exciting new outdoor infinity pool, it also offers you the perfect opportunity to relax and unwind pre- or post-wedding.

The largest of the wedding spaces is the Tilden Suite, which can host 240 for your vows and reception. A former monastery chapel with domed roof, it boasts a wealth of 18th-century architectural features. This is a completely private room with its own bar and private entrance.

The William Turner Suite, located in the main building with beautiful crystal chandeliers and French windows can accommodate 100 for the ceremony and 140 for the reception. It has an adjoining private reception room overlooking the courtyard and a private bar area.

Finally, the Drawing Room, which has capacity for 50 for “I dos” and celebrations, is a beautiful room also located in the main house. It has front-facing views of the golf course and beyond. Its impressively ornate high ceiling is sure to bring the wow factor to any intimate wedding.
